Thanks alot! I'll give it a try. I was so worried about this reinstallation as I'm not an experienced Oracle DBA and the DBA who usually does all these is unavailable.

Oh, I've got another question. The system datafiles, e.g. SYSTEM01.DBF...etc are located on the SAN as well. I guess after I've done the installation, I'll have to delete the new system datafiles and point the system tablespace to the old ones. Am I correct?
