Hi - I've got to get a schema and associated data from an 8.1.7 to an 8.1.6 installation. Both are on Windows 2000 boxes.

I've read some comments on this newsgroup that suggest if I just copy the EXP.EXE from the 8.1.6 install and run it against the 8.1.7 install it will create a .DMP which can then be IMP'd by the 8.1.6 - could someone tell me if they thinks this sounds likely ? I'm in a position where I can't just do it, I'll have to go public with it and it sounds a bit wierd to me.

Thanks

Richard Shea.
