Hello,

I am new to this group so i exactly don't have correct idea if this is the correct place for this question.

I have two machines(intel pc's) at home. One one machine i have linux 6.2 and on the other one i have windows 2000 Advanced Server. So, now i installed Oracle-8.1.6 server on my Linux machine and oracle-8.1.5 client on my windows machine. And now when i try to connect to the oracle server using the Net8 Easy Config it gives an error at the end that Listener Failed. But on my network when i try to ping to the Linux Server i am able to ping to that machine. And also another interesting issue is this client in Windows machine is able to connect to and outside oracle server whose ipaddress and login is known.
SO CAN SOME ONE PLEASE SLOVE THIS PROBLEM FOR ME. Thanks in Advance.
