Is Oracle 8.1.7 client compatible with 7.3

Hey gang,

I am upgarding Oracle server 7.3 to Oracle 8.1.7 for a Siebel Application. Also, I will be upgrading all of the clients to 8.1.7. The problem -> I still have 2 older applications running on 7.3 databases, which the clients need to connect. Therefore, I wanted to know if the clients would be able to connect to the 2 older applications running on 7.3, after I upgrade the clients to 8.1.7 for the siebel application.
