I think that's better to teach how to walk, before trying to run. In
your case you should have working installation of Oracle SW before
creating database.
I suppose that your problems are not caused by creating of database,
but by messy SW installation.
Does your system meets a minimal requirements to install Oracle EE
8.1.6 ? Especially, look at memory available and memory required by
installer. You should have minimum of 256MB RAM (512 MB are better) to
install 8.1.6 EE on your computer.
SGA should *NEVER* be larger than physical memory available, but SGA
is not install parameter but parameter of database instance.
Sometimes you can encounter errors while installing Oracle SW, which
can be ignored, but in general you should have a clean install with no
errors at all.
