Can 8.1.7 home have 7.3.4 NLS files? Advisable?

Friends,

Since we have a need to access some older 7.3.4 databases using Pro*Cobol, we have a need to bring in cetain 7.3.4 NLS files over to our 8.1.7 home.

In particular, we will create a separate directory named say ocom734 in 8.1.7 home and copy the NLS subdirectory from 7.3.4 installation here.

Is this advisable?
