Not that I know of. In 9i, inheritance is supposed to be there. Going from past experience, I'd give it a release or two before starting to rely on it for extensive use.

Unless we're talking the Java engine inside ORACLE, I can hardly see how native mapping will take place. It's a database we're talking about, after all. It can't possibly natively map every possible combination of Java object. I can't see it happening, anyway.
