Talk about flogging a dead horse.

I have no idea what that sentence means, even in terms of plain English. But RAC is not parallel server, albeit it offers the same sort of functionality as Parallel Server. It's not just a question of added functionalities. It's a matter of fundamental redesign, and inherent differences. Since when did Parallel Server offer cache fusion? And what monumental changes in the infrastructure do you think had to be implemted to allow cache fusion?

It's like calling Hadrian's Wall the Berlin Wall. Well, they both had bricks, and both were barriers, but apart from that....

Sort your terminology out, and get up to speed with the differences. If you persist in seeing one as a mere extension of the other, I doubt you'll ever get it to work.
