The syntax for 7.3.4 is identical to the syntax in 8.0 and 8i Please read the net8 administrators manual at http://technet.oracle.com The services are saved in the names schema in the database, and NO you can not insert/update those manually as several long columns are involved. You can also update (from experience) a 7.3.4 names server with a net 8.0 client.
