ORACLE better look at all this install rigmarole or the volume of complaints is gonna go through the roof.

With someone with a lot of knowledge, it's not a major issue. We all know that 64-bit is not trivial in UNIX, even in this day and age.

But to someone who has been quietly muddling along at 32-bit to have to go through all this...

I can see the headlines already:
"ORACLE 9i too difficult to install!"
"Users report 3 days of patching their systems and 1 day to install ORACLE".
etc,etc.

IMHO, this move to 64-bit only in HP was a bit premature. Wide-visioned, but premature nevertheless.
