hi,

i want to know if itīs much better to use raw devices instead of ext2 or reiser fs partitions on a suse linux 7.0 system. i want to install oracle9i db.

i have found some references in this newsgroups but those are a few years old and discuss raw devices compared to aix jfs. can i compare this to my linux system?

so do you think i will get better performance using raw devices? i know that it is more administrative effort.

are there any www links discussing my questions?

thanks so much

greetings
