Hi,

I setup Oracle 8i Administration Client - for Oracle 8 / 7 on a W2k Pro machine to access Oracle 8 server
running NT 4.0 sp6.

I'm getting this error:

I tried using the NET 8 Assistant / Configuration Assistant to connect but I keep getting an error.

I tried the command prompt: tnsping 192.168.1.13 and get the error below
and then in SQL Plus I get a similiar error.

Attempting to contact (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=192.168.1.13)(PORT=1521)) TNS-12571: TNS:packet writer failure

I can ping the server fine.

I can run sqlplus no the Oracle Server fine but cannot seem to access it remotely.

Thanks, Paul Received on Sun Aug 19 2001 - 22:27:07 CDT
