• open a support request with Veritas.
• service pack 4 was awful - upgrade to 6a + apply the rollup patch.
• 8.1.6 on NT is off of support as of 31-OCT-2001 - upgrade to 8.1.7.
• use OFA naming - e.g.

E:\Oracle\Oradata\TEST\

			system01.dbf
			tools01.dbf
			rbs01.dbf
F:\Oracle\Oradata\TEST\
			indexes01.dbf
			temp01.dbf

G:\Oracle\Oradata\TEST
			users01.dbf
			oem_repository01.dbf
			drsys01.dbf

and don't put the datafiles in named directories matching the TS name.
