"Bonjour" from Paris,

There is a bug (487957) where an index can become corrupted under heavy concurrency and one of the symptoms is encountering an ORA-1467 during a rebuild attempt.

The bug is fixed in Oracle8 and was also included in the 7.3.4.2 patchset release. Even though you are on 7.3.4.4, it is possible that you encountered this bug at an
earlier time if the index was created prior to 7.3.4.2. The only workaround if you have encountered this bug is to drop and recreate the index. You should not experience this error on any further rebuild attempts.

"Au revoir" from Paris
