Yes...but obviously you'll need to upgrade it to use it...You would:

• copy the files over to the 8.1.7 box (including parameter file)
• edit parameter file to ensure its 8.1.7 ok
• start the db
• run u080106.sql (or something like that) in $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin to upgrade it to 8.1.7
