Oracle Enterprise Manager - Preferred Credentials for a Node

In OEM 2.1, in Preferred Credentials, does the node's credentials need to be a LOCAL user (in the local domain of node) or can it also be a DOMAIN user. I am getting mixed results...

On Windows 2000 Advanced Server, it seems that I can successfully use either a local or domain user (with the "log on as a batch job" right) for the node's credentials.

On Windows NT Server 4.0 (SP5), it seems that only a local user will work. A domain user comes back with the notorious "VNI-2015 : Authentication Error" message for exact same job as when the local user was used successfully. Both the local and domain user are Administrators of the node. I would like to use a domain user so I don't need to keep track of several local users, one for each db server.

Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks. Received on Wed Aug 08 2001 - 17:12:58 CDT
