Oracle 7.3.4 has been desupported and has never been certified against win2k, and won't be certified against win2k. Due to desupport notices, you should go at least to 8.1.7 right away. As 8.0 is a major upgrade (the format of the rowid changes!!!), 'installing some patches' won't help.
The only thing that will help is install the full 8.1.7, export the 7.3.4 database and import it into 8.1.7.
