Unless I'm mistaken 9i's "clustering" (i.e. the old OPS with cache fusion) still relies on O/S level clustering software to inform it of a failure. That's the piece I'm looking for. The O/S clustering software. I know Oracle has Oracle FailSafe but that's only for NT.
