is it possible when using rman to have the recovery catalog database on personal edition816 which also is the repository for enterprise manager 2.1 and the target databases as 8.1.6 ent server edition. I ask this as

I have installed on my machine (nt4 client) an oracle client with my development tools installed in one directory with the listner files pointing to my target databases. I also have oem installed in another directory and finally personal edition in another directory which holds the repository for oem and I would like to store the rcovery catalog in this same database.
I have created an account for rman on the personal database but when it

came to connecting to recovery catalog I had the error RMAN.DBMS_RCVCAT database is too old.
when I installed the recovery catalog I had to use the script from my clinet installation.

Basically can I use personal edition too use as my recovery database??? Or would it be better to instal a small ent edition on the machine and use that to hold my oem repositiory and recovery catalog????

thanks in advance Received on Sat Jul 21 2001 - 16:33:28 CDT
