I'm not sure about a cross-platform virus. But a cross-platform trojan horse is certainly possible. Lots of people have perl for Windows, Java, etc. But they'd have to be applications the user ran themselves, not loaded within a browser (unless the user has killed ALL their browser security).

The smart thing to do is to use your common sense and don't believe everything you read.
