First, check to be sure that the CONTROL_FILES parameter in your initialization parameter file lists the correct control file names. Then check your database alert log to see if it indicates a specific file as being the problem. Here's a quote from the Oracle messages manual for your error message:

"When using mirrored control files, that is, more than one control file is referenced in the initialization parameter file, remove the control file name listed in the message from the initialization parameter file and restart the instance. If the message does not recur, remove the problem control file from the initialization parameter file and create another copy of the control file with a new file name in the initialization parameter file. "

It could be that the shutdown abort caused one of your control files to be corrupted. That's unusual (it's never happened to be, knock on wood), but that's what I suspect at this point. ARCServer probably should have been more conservative, and had you do a normal shutdown instead.

BTW, your alert log file should be named xxx_alert.log. I forget exactly where it sits on an NT box, but on my Linux server, it is .../OraHome1/admin/prod/bdump/prod_alert.log.
