RMAN with linux and 8.1.7?

I am getting ready to recommend a backup recovery solution to a client running Linux. I remember that there was a bug with RMAN and Oracle 8.1.6 but it seems to have been fixed in 8.1.7. Has anyone noticed any problems with RMAN on Linux? I am guessing were talking version 7.1 but it could be 6.2
