DB2 has also benchmarked 2-tier SAP R3 on Compaq running Linux (Oct/99). Perhaps Oracle benchmarks are forthcoming on Linux with the new mantra announced over the past two weeks: ""We allow companies to use very inexpensive hardware to run very large applications more reliably than ever before," said Ellison. "This is the holy grail of the database business."
