aaaaargggh.

I have just finished with a problem. export from 8.1.5. would not import successfully to 8.1.7 ora-00600 error when importing intermedia indexes. Hence log a tar. Various helpful suggestions, though it did take a day before they said 'it seems you have problems with intermedia objects' as the statement of problem said 'internal error when importing intermedia objects', and it had been a whole day I was a bit p'd off.

stop oracle,start oracle, stop listener, start listener, delete database, recreate database, delete listener, recreate listener. no joy.

reboot server. problem disappears.

bugger.

lesson learned. ora-00600 = call support, but only after reboot. this *is* windows after all.
