What do u mean 'install on the fly'? I just try to install 9i for Linux on RH 6.2 or 7.0, but installation falied. Right now I'm able to install 9i and create database on RH 7.1. From the Oracle doc, it only mentions 'Suse is certified', I don't want to switch from RH to Suse, 'cause we have 100 customers using RH Linux. Be honest, Oracle 9i installation doc has nothing.
