get error installing oracle (Newbie ) Can anyone help

Oracle 8i
Sun Solaris 2.6

I am installing oracle on a Sun 420. Everthing is looking good until it starts links files then I get an error. A copy of the make.log is below. The man pages on "as" suggest axarch goes only to SPARC V8 why then is the make file asking for SPARC v9. Can someone point me the right direction please. If you need more Information let me know.
