Is there a preferred OS for Oracle on Intel? Are there any comparison charts available? We are considering MS-Windows and Linux for a data warehouse application.

Oracle sent out an advisory notification about future operating system support. We currently have a license for Oracle Server on the Solaris/Intel platform. According to the advisory, this is not one of the operating systems Oracle plans to support.

I found the advisory notification on metalink, under procuct lifecycle, desupport notices. The doc id is: Note:148052.1. Received on Mon Jun 18 2001 - 13:39:38 CDT
