mandrake 8.0, oracle install

Hello all,
I am trying to install Oracle 8i.Enterprise 1.7.0.1 on a Linux Mandrake 8.0 machine. I didn't have any luck
I followed the procedure, creating the oracle user and all trying to installing using it.
Starting with the command
DISPLAY=localhost:0.0
export DISPLAY
xhost + or xhost +localhost
runinstaller...
then nothing comes on. The oracle installer GUI never comes up. Anyone have the same problem? Anyone with any ideas? Thanks Received on Tue Jun 12 2001 - 23:57:09 CDT
