Hallo Christoph!

CK> : CK> I need to know a way to create a database using solely
CK> : CK> batch tools, i.e. SRVMGR or something to create an Oracle
CK> : CK> DB instance after the customer has installed the server from
 CK> the CD.

CK> Thanks for answering in german but I think this is an english list. :-)
CK> I wouldn't mind receiving followups in direct mail in german.

CK> Anyway, you wrote that I should start dbassist and generate the script
CK> file(s). I ran the script files and so many bad things happened like
CK> running out of virtual memory and such. And a bunch of javavm stuff
CK> was executed or entered in the database which I didn't want anyway.

Ok, brainstorming .
How do you've installed the Oracle-Software ? Create user oracle and groups oinstall, dba ? make the envirement, .profile ?
Do you've edited the /etc/system ?
The Unix-kernel (Solaris) has to be changed -> shm,sem

Read the installation-manual
