Remote connection failure

Hi,

When i try to connect to the oracle server from a remote host using sqlplus i get the following error.

ERROR:
ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve service name

Network services have been setup and there is a listener running on the server.

On the client (SparcStation) i have installed the client software an configured the connection. netasst picks up the server checked the login without problems. thats it. sqlplus still fails to get a connection. Any help ?
