Yes I also presume it, but we don't have any clear picture of the actually sql commands running because the sql questions is very complex, select on views which use other views, which run some of there columns via PL/SQL functions, packages which run other select on other views and so on. But a lot of sort and stuff like that, yes.

But again about tuning the initora parms I don't know how much time we need or should spend here. The initora parms look the same between the Canada and Norway setup. So it should be different in 10-100 times in the performance. The Canada setup has 2Gb of memory but we have try to "shrink" the value in Canada but didn't come close to the bad performance in Norway. And the tuning we did with the values in norway maid the queries in norway run 5% faster but it still a huge different between Norway and Canada.

About large io, if you look on the iostat output during one of our reports running in norway you see the io is low around below 30kbps on both md3 (archive log raidset), md10 (data raidset). No i/o wait time so I don't think the disk is the performance problem.

We haven't analyze view, tables as far as I know... But don't the index, tables auto "analyze" when we run a export/import? Both database has been defraged (export/import) the last month.

I Will try to to some more tuning of the initora parm, but I don't know if it will kick up the performance in Norway to the Canada level.

If you have any other suggestions to ous to try or some please tell because we a running out of ideas.

The performance different between norway and canada is huge around 10-100 times depends on rapports. very simply rapports, select directly on tabel or light view (or view which is just a select on table) run which out any performance problem.

Kind regards
