do not use exp/imp on a replicated database with 7.x. Replication used rowids in that release. If you take the data out and put it back in you'll have to rebuild all of the copies.

Can you define "too fragmented". If you have objects that are in a couple of dozen/hundreds of extents -- that is OK.
