Re: Shutdown immediate taking a very long time (hour plus) after upgrade of db?

Once and awhile a shutdown will hang forever. Check you alert log.
If you see the message 'Waiting for active calls to complete', start another svrmgrl sesiion and issue a SHUTDOWN ABORT. Then immediately do a startup.
