That you wrote "one of the Oracle init files, I don't..." is somewhat disturbing, suggesting a potential silly boo-boo and perhaps lack of rudamentary knowledge on your part.

Nonetheless, if the syntax was entered correctly into the init<sid>.ora file or any included file, the trace file should be in the user_dump_dest directory and will have some constructed name that includes the operating system process id for the shadow process encountering the error.

Find the directory, which should be specified in your init<sid>.ora by the user_dump_dest parameter entry, and do 'ls -lrt' if you are in UNIX. This will order the files chronologically. If you search immediately after the error is encountered you will probably see it as the last file listed. Otherwise, to 'grep process *.trc' on that directory to dig through the trace files looking for a processstate dump.
