Non-GUI installer for Oracle

Does anybody know if it is possible to install (without a lot of pain ;-) ) Oracle not using Java-based installer ?
From time to time I prepare solaris servers for typical RDBMS work: I install basic packages, make mirrors and stripes, etc. But I always have to install also packages with X-Window libraries just to run Oracle's installer (I set DISPLAY variable to another computer so I don't need to install whole X-Window). And then they (the libraries) are never used again. I know that I can remove them later, after installation but ...

Is the GUI installer really the only way to install Oracle ?
