I faced the same problem in RH7.0, no matter I use dbassist or the script generated by dbassist, the result is the same.

One more I found is that whenever I set ORACLE_SID to a non-existed DB and use svrmgrl to connect internal, it reported "end of file connection".
However, it is fine if I unset ORACLE_SID!!!

I have also tried to start listener myself, "end of file connection" was also reported! How come?
