Yes, but it requires the Oracle Data unloader tool. It costs $10,000 for 4 hours for someone to come out and use it.

that should justify a bit of expense in additional hardware to support archivelog mode.
you can run a hot backup from the OS - it just have to be able to connect to the database to put each tablespace into backup mode. Or - you could install/configure a third party backup tool, such as Veritas or ARCServeIT, which have Oracle Agents.
