Export takes too long

Hi,

we have a strange problem here in our developement environment. There are identical databases on a NT-box with Oracle 8.0.5 and a Linux-box with Oracle 8.1.6. When performing an export of a 20000 rows table from my N-clent machiene against the NT-box, after a few seconds I get my 10 MB dumpfile. The same procedure against the Linuxbox takes half an hour. Quiet funny, when I spool the table contents via SQL+ (termout off), there is no difference between the servers. Both perform the task in a few seconds.

I monitored the waits during the exports. The problematic Linux instance shows exorbitant net*8 waits, so where do I have to continue my search? Any hints?
