You can do one of few things:

  1. stage the cds by copying them to disk and running them from there
  2. umount the cds but if you're in that directory, the cd will be busy and won't mount. the only way to eject is to turn volmgt off. i think it's in /etc/init.d/volmgt or you can do a search for it. after it's off, just push the cd eject button, then turn it back on.
  3. start the Universal Installer while not in cd /cdrom directory. from a mount point other than /cdrom type %/cdrom/cdrom0/runInstaller
