Er..... make your rollback segment bigger???

Do you mean you had an ORA-1555 Snapshot too old error? And were you trying to export with consisitent=Y??

Because if the answer to the first question is yes, you can 1) make rollback segments bigger or 2) shutdown the database and then open it in restricted session mode so that there are no real users on the system or 3) run export at 2 o'clock in the morning when OLTP activity on the database is at a minimum. Option 1 is not a guarantee that the same problem won't happen again. Neither is option 3. Option 2 will guarantee it, however.

And if the answer to the second question was yes, stop trying to make your exports globally consistent on a heavily-transacted database, because you are simply asking for trouble.
