This is NOT true... or shouldn't be! :) User 'km' is member of group 'dba' and should be able to connect internal. Not even root can do a connect internal!
Well, I can connect internal and do a startup with user 'oracle' (who BTW is owner), but take a look at this:

km_at_sydpolen:~$ sqlplus webdev/password_at_instance

SQL*Plus: Release 8.1.6.0.0 - Production on Fri Mar 30 10:01:01 2001

ERROR:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available

NOT TRUE! User 'oracle' har indeed started Oracle, and root has started listener-service... WHY can't I connect then?!
