year 2094, parameter

hi

i've come across an old pl/sql procedure that my predecessors in the it department of my company have written. it make inserts into a table with a constant date given as '01.01.94'. the oracle database interprets this as 01.01.2094....
supposedly, there is a parameter that handles such situations. does anyone know anything about it?
would be nice if you could help.
