This happened to us on a Solaris machine when migrating from 8.1.6 to 8.1.7 We let it run 24 hours, and it still just hung there. We eventually cancelled out of the migration utility and ran the upgrade scripts by hand. We now do our upgrades by manually running the upgrade scripts. I no longer trust the GUI to do it for me.  DB
