The SPARC version of Oracle will not work. I've got a copy of 7.3 for x86, but they don't currently have a developer version of 8i x86 for download. I do believe they still produce it for x86. Perhaps if you contact Oracle sales, they'll send you a copy. Or, try a different newsgroup, like alt.solaris.x86 (i think that's what it is.)
