Hi Arthur,


  There's a couple of things you could try if you haven't already.
  First try connecting to ORCL.ORACLE and see what you get.  If that doesn't
work then try adding an entry in the registry within
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/ORACLE as follows



TNS_ADMIN D:\Oracle\Ora81\NETWORK\ADMIN
