Hmm - any reason you can't use Oracle8i ? Then you could use the builtin standby, download the Oracle8i Data Guard environment (the scripts) from OTN, and be in place to use the new Data Guard and standby capabilities in Oracle9i when it ships. Would save having to give Quest any money at all.
