8.1.7 slowed down

I've noticed a huge degratation in performance between 2 systems.



the fast one: 366 mhz machine with 8.1.6 and 256 meg ram



the slow one: 1Gig with 8.1.7 and 512 meg ram.



Same schema, same data, same java, same app.



Any ideas?
