Hello everybody.
I'm really going nuts.
After downloading 65 MB for Oracle Patch 8.1.6.3 and realizing, that in this patch a fix from 8.1.6.1.5 for fixing the "Autostart-Error" (Bug-ID 1266248) was not included which resulted in a total time of about 9+ minutes for the database to start (after reboot or starting the oracleserviceorcl manually), I also downloaded the new patch 8.1.6.3.1 (available since Feb. 1) - another 11 MB.
The readme for this patch contains this:
--The follwing fixes were included in 8.1.6.1.5 PSE but not in 8.1.6.3.0 Patchset.
They are include in this PSE to make 8.1.6.3 cumulative from 8.1.6.1.5
PSE.

After copying all the files I restarted the OracleService<SID> Service
....
it took 9 minutes until it was up...
Now I rebootet the PC ...
Exactly the same ...
No change to behaviour before.
What could I have done wrong ?
Or is Oracle really that stupid, that they forget to include a fix in a
patch which explicitly states that includes that patch ?
Are there some developers from Oracle in this group ? Any comment ?
