Any info. would be greatly appreciated. I want to create a function that will return the IP address of the UNIX host that the database is running on. I know that I can get the host name from v$instance, but I need the address. We're running 8.1.6 on HP-UX (not sure of the version).

Do I have to write a C program, create a library, etc?

Thanks in advance
