Are others out there as frustrated as I am, with the Windows version of SQL*Plus (8.1.7.0.0)? This thing just loves to crash. I'm running on a rock solid Thinkpad with Windows 2000 Pro SP1. If anyone has solved this crashing problem, please tell me how. I like some of the features of the Windows version but it crashes soooooo often it's annoying.

Also, how do you get to see more than 80 columns.. I used to know this but have forgotten. I set my linesize to like 2000 and tried all kinds of buffer widths up to 2000 and buffer length of 1000, changed maxdata. Nothing works so far. I can only scroll right to about column 90 before the output truncates and scroll any further. ARGHHHHH!!!! !!! !!!!!!!!

One would think that after how many decades of this simple tool, that Oracle could make the damn thing more robust by now.

Many thanks,
Zoran. Received on Mon Jan 15 2001 - 18:38:57 CST
